  • Many themes run through this chronicle; foremost from utter depravity, through forgiveness to victorious redemption. Another is the powerful explanation of Dr. Bernard Nathanson a man who unleashed a bloody revolution on America and spent his twilight years trying to rein it back in.

  • Lisa is a good friend and has one of the most inspiring life stories of anyone I know. She had some rough early years, became addicted to drugs and even spent some time in jail. Now, she is an author, speaker, pro-life leader and mentor and friend to many influential people across the country.

  • It is rare that a book touches my heart so deeply. The courses of the lives of Kathy, Lisa, and Dr. Nathanson took very different paths. Yet the Lord was faithful to meet each of them at just the right moment since grace, peace, and the opportunity to refocus are not one-size-fits-all. Transparent honesty is uncommon today. These three share the vulnerability of their own human thinking and choices to help the rest of us see that, no matter what, we can heal and make new choices going forward. I have purchased additional copies for family and friends. The gift of this book is too precious not to share!

  • In a world where people are devalued, commodified, abused, exploited, degraded, and murdered, this book is important work. Especially in light of current events, this book speaks to the wisdom of valuing all human life. Fascinating history, universally relatable characters, and three interconnecting true stories make this book relevant and deeply meaningful. It is hard to turn your attention away from such timeless and weighty truth. It would be hard to walk away from this book unchanged. You will find it worth your attention—would be great for a book club or just to generate discussion.

  • A riveting account full of inspiration to change your life. Light in Our Darkness is a riveting account of three lives woven together. Thomas and Gray are heart-wrenchingly honest in sharing the details of their lives. They incorporate the true story of Dr. Bernard Nathanson, a man I never heard of, but one with great influence. I found the book was well written, thought-provoking, and perceptive into human behavior. Although the accounts are dark and seemingly without hope, they are anything but bleak. Thomas and Gray show us that there is hope, there is healing, and there is deliverance. It comes from light. Light chases away the darkness and reveals truth and beauty. This book challenged me. I had a hard time putting it down.

  • This is one hard-to-put-down book! It is fascinating to see the lives of three individuals, from completely different backgrounds, woven together to support the same truth. Every life has value. Whether we have met the person yet (the unborn) or someone who has lived a long life with many regrets. This book is beautifully written and I appreciate the fact that it didn't waste my time with unnecessary words. Reading it felt like I was sitting in a coffee shop talking with Lisa and Kathy. No pretense. Just raw and authentic. I've ordered several copies for my family and friends!

  • My daughter Morgan read this book, this is her review: Lisa is one of the biggest blessings in my life. Her transformed heart has been such a blessing and guiding force in my life and this book perfectly tells the story of that beautiful transformation intertwined with the incredible stories of two others! I could not put it down. If you are doubtful about the power of the Lord, a Christian looking for inspiration, or just looking for a book that tells the stories of people who experienced radical life change, this is it ya'll.

  • Amazing book! I will NEVER forget it. Light in our darkness was by far one of the best books I have ever read. I'm 13 and this book touched my heart so deeply. It is so amazing how God can forgive people no matter how far gone they think they are. These intertwined stories of hardship are a spot-on representation of how much God loves his children and how little it takes him to forgive us. These stories are ones that everyone should read and apply to their own lives. Thank you so much, Lisa, Kathy, and Bernie for giving us the gift of your personal stories. I will never forget it!

  • I found myself wishing that I could have been right there learning too as the two of you developed such a wonderful bond! Kathy and Lisa, you are both blatantly honest and descriptive in how this story was put together and told. I found myself wishing that I could have been right there learning too as the two of you developed such a wonderful bond! I realized that we just have no idea what our next-door neighbor or close friends may have to deal with in life, every single day. You two matter a lot and we all benefit from your willingness to write this book. It is true that Light does reveal the truth.

  • This book is hard to put down once you start reading it. I found the stories of all three people in the book almost hard to believe, and yet each one ending in hope for a brighter tomorrow. If Lisa, Kathy, and Bernard could be rescued from the depths of their despair and redeemed for their unique purpose in life, then there is hope for the rest of us. If you have ever wondered why God put you on this earth or what your purpose is in life, then this book is for you.

  • An amazing story of Redemption. This book is great. It's amazing how these three lives intersect and form a story only God could write. It also brings so much light to how the lives of all Americans have been affected by the horrors of abortion in our country. I love the redemptive story of God's grace & how His story shines through!
